PACT in the News
______________________________________________________
PACT joined the "Walk Now for Autism Speaks" fundraiser on Nov. 1st in Tempe. Representatives of Manzanita Preschool, PACT group members, along with friends and family, showed their support by walking the route through Tempe Town Lake. The many booths had an array of information and resources for Arizona's children. We were able to bring a wealth of information back to share with our group members who were unable to attend the walk.

Champion Mixed Martial Arts & Fitness hosted their first joint effort with PACT, Knock Out Autism, to raise money for the Manzanita Elementary School autism program. The fundraiser was a huge success, raising over $1,300! PACT's hope is to collaborate with additional local businesses for future autism fund raisers.

PACT fundraiser packs a punch

We were invited to speak at the First Things First award ceremony, highlighting their efforts in raising over 2.5 million for the La Paz/Mohave county region children age birth to 5 years. PACT's co-founder, Crystal Miller, gave a speech about the many benefits that Manzanita Preschool provides for the general Kingman community, along with their assistance providing care for children with developmental delays and disabilities. The full speech can be read on our Facebook page

This is the first time since it's inception that PACT was in the local paper. We initially were seeking exposure of our cause, and were invited to be interviewed by the business columnist, Aaron Royster. The article highlights the small town struggle that parents of children with autism have to go through in a community with limited resources. The photo represents our first "Autism Speaks" walk in Las Vegas. We are very thankful for Mr. Royster's insight and dedication to bringing light to this growing issue.
